Hackett, Steve - Genesis Revisited Band & Orchestra: Live (vinyl Re-issue 2022)
Stephen Richard Hackett (geboren op 12 februari 1950) is een Britse singer-songwriter en gitarist. Hij werd bekendheid als lid van de Britse progressieve rockgroep Genesis, waarmee hij in 1970 toetrad en in 1977 vertrok om een ??solocarrière na te streven. Hackett heeft bijgedragen aan zes Genesis-studioalbums, drie livealbums en zeven singles.
In 1986 richtte Hackett de Supergroup GTR op met een andere progressieve gitarist, Steve Howe van Yes en Asia. De groep bracht dat album uit met een titel, die piekte op # 11 op de Billboard 200 in de Verenigde Staten en de Top 20 single ' When the Heart Rules the Mind ' voortbracht. Toen Hackett GTR in 1987 verliet, werd de groep ontbonden.
Na zijn vertrek uit GTR hervatte Hackett zijn solocarrière en bracht hij albums uit en toerde hij regelmatig op tournee. Zijn oeuvre omvat veel stijlen, zoals progressieve rock, wereldmuziek en klassiek. Zijn spel beïnvloedde gitaristen zoals Eddie Van Halen, Alex Lifeson, Brian May en Steve Rothery. Hij werd als lid van Genesis opgenomen in de Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
