Animals - Tracking The Hits
The Animals was een Britse band uit de jaren 60, gevormd in Newcastle upon Tyne in het begin van het decennium. De band verhuisde naar Londen na het vinden van bekendheid in 1964. The Animals stonden bekend om hun korrelig, bluesachtig geluid en diepzinnige frontman Eric Burdon, zoals geïllustreerd door hun kenmerkende nummer en transatlantische nummer 1 hitsingle '' The House of the Rising Sun '', maar ook door hits zoals '' We Gotta Get Up of This Place '', '' It's My Life '', '' I'm Crying '' en '' Do not Let Me Be Misunderstood '' '. De band balanceerde stoere, rock-edged pop singles tegen rhythm and blues-oriented album material. Ze waren in de VS bekend als onderdeel van de Britse invasie. De dieren werden in 1994 opgenomen in de Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
