Both mixes are remastered well on this set, and the discs are quiet and flawless. I also prefer the 1969 mix over the 1973 one, it's a bit rawer and more separated, without any of the reverb/echo that was added on the beginnings mix. Definitely recommend this one. Allman Brothers Band - The Allman Brothers Band
De Allman Brothers Band is een invloedrijke Amerikaanse rockband die bekend staat om hun unieke mix van blues, rock en jazzinvloeden. De band werd opgericht in 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida, en bestond uit oprichters Duane Allman (gitaar) en Gregg Allman (zang, toetsen), samen met Dickey Betts (gitaar), Berry Oakley (basgitaar), Butch Trucks (drums) en Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson (drums).
De Allman Brothers Band werd geprezen om hun improvisatievermogen en virtuositeit, met uitgebreide live-optredens die de grenzen van rockmuziek verkenden. Hun iconische nummers zoals "Whipping Post", "Ramblin' Man" en "Jessica" hebben de tand des tijds doorstaan en zijn uitgegroeid tot klassiekers binnen het genre.
Helaas werden de Allman Brothers Band geteisterd door persoonlijke tragedies, waaronder het overlijden van Duane Allman in 1971 en Berry Oakley in 1972. Ondanks deze tegenslagen bleef de band bestaan en bracht ze succesvolle albums uit, waaronder "Brothers and Sisters" uit 1973.
De Allman Brothers Band wordt beschouwd als een van de pioniers van de Southern rock en heeft een blijvende invloed gehad op de rockmuziek.
